acupuncture no help for arthritic knees

Recent research at Keele university has shown, in a double blind controlled trial, that acupuncture did not produce any improvement in symptoms for those with osteoarthritis in the knee. It did however confirm that physiotherapy to increase muscle strength combined with advice about weight loss does result in decreased pain and increased functional activity.
