We offer appointments from 8.00am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday. Home visits are available to those whom because of disability are unable to attend the clinics.
Initial appointments are 45 minutes but can be 1 hour. Subsequent appointments will vary with the problem and will range from 30 to 45 minutes.
Referral by a doctor is not a requirement, however, if you are seeking reimbursement from private health insurance companies they will want you to have spoken to your doctor first. At your first visit the physiotherapist will be able to give you some idea of the number of treatments you will need. As a guide our average number is just less than five.
We do maintain close relationships with all our patients doctors — both GPs and consultants — and unless requested not to, will write to them outlining the condition, progress etc.
If you would like to make an appointment or require further advice please email us or phone on 01892 785095 (Wadhurst) or 01892 668968 (Crowborough).
Information on using private insurance
Wadhurst and Crowborough Physiotherapy is recognised by all the major insurers.
Can I claim on my insurance?
Probably. Most policies include physiotherapy, but you must read the actual details of your individual policy. Many policies only include treatment as an in-patient while others have exclusions for previous problems and many have excesses on them. Make sure you fully understand what you are entitled to.
How do I make a claim?
All insurance companies insist that you make contact with your GP, consultant or hospital doctor before you begin physiotherapy. Companies vary on whether they require forms to be filled in and by whom. Sometimes the physiotherapist can complete these but several insist on it being the doctor. There will be a charge for a doctor to do this.
Many companies will issue you with a claim reference number. Bring or phone this through to the clinic at, or as soon after, the first appointment as possible. Providing the clinic has all the necessary information, invoices will be sent directly to your insurer. Otherwise you will be expected to settle the account prior to sending it to your insurer.
The practice reception staff are used to helping people through what can be a very confusing issue if you have not done it before. Please phone and they will be more than happy to help you on 01892 785095.
